ArrayIt’s incredible to think that a year has passed since our last blog looking at the fantastic work being done over Christmas by The Salvation Army. Once again, our Head of Design Claire has worked hard to collect donations for The Salvation Army’s 2019 Christmas Present Appeal. Every year the Charity collects presents for children in need and of all ages across the country so that no child goes without this Christmas. Last year we managed to supply our local Maidstone Salvation Army Centre with over 80 gifts and this year we were proud of the generosity of our team with another £200+ worth of gifts raised.
With Christmas fast approaching, the Present Appeal has now closed but we thought it important to still bring awareness to the many other ways in which The Salvation Army are supporting local communities this year.
More than 700 Salvation Army Centres across the UK will be open with residential centres for the homeless offering Christmas lunches and community centres welcoming the elderly for a festive Christmas meal to celebrate with the rest of the community. There are also deliveries of Food, Winter Clothing and Toys for those who need them.
Whilst the Charity undoubted do amazing work, none of this would be possible without donations from the public and there is still time to help the Charity spread their efforts across local communities in time for Christmas. For those wanting to make a monetary contribution you can do so here: https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/.
However, you can also help by donating to local Food Banks, taking your unwanted Winter and Warm clothing to your local charity shop or even just by donating your time. All information about this can be found on the charities website where you can also discover your local church or Salvation Army Centre.
