World Cup Sweepstake Competition

It’s crazy to think that just over a month ago the Russia 2018 World Cup was about to begin and there was a very different atmosphere to the one there has been these past couple of weeks. Not many people seemed excited by it and not many people expected England to get very far. But within a few short weeks, boy did the atmosphere change and it almost seemed at one point that’s we were on the cusp of winning our second World Cup!

Just before the World Cup started there were several football fans amongst the team who were all really looking forward to the tournament commencing and eagerly awaited the great football talent we were about to see! To get everyone involved in the excitement we decided to do a sweepstake between the staff here at Sitewizard and our sister company Electroneum – the mobile cryptocurrency!

As the weeks unfolded, it was clear this was going to be a World Cup unlike any we’ve seen for many years. So many of the teams we expected to go far were getting knocked out and who would win was anyone’s guess! Could it be England we all asked? It has in my opinion been the best World Cup for many years. The only other World Cup that I think comes close is France 98!

It was then time for the final and we all knew it was going to be a nail biting one! We had our own Vicki Harris who had picked France and Luke Watson – one of Sitewizard’s new designers – who had picked Croatia going up against each other in the final! It was a great final to end an incredible tournament, but there could only be one winner and it was France winning 4-2!

Well done, Vicki Harris for winning! We only hope she handles it with the same decorum and modesty of Paul Pogba …
